WSMA Math Mania
Washington Student Math Association partnered with Microsoft to host the first annual
WSMA Math Mania, an interactive math seminar. The event took place at the
Microsoft Store at Bellevue Square from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 22,
2011. We engaged visitors with math games, presentations, and displays about the
applications of mathematics in areas such as sports, nature, movies, and much more.
In addition, we also had a guest speaker – Alex Zolotovitski, a published
senior researcher for Microsoft – who presented on math applications in the
business world.
Admission was free, and prizes were awarded. Any student interested in math was
encouraged to come, and teachers, coaches, and parents were invited to attend as
well.
