AMC 12: amc.maa.org/e-exams/e6-amc12/amc12.shtml
Description: The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple-choice exam to be taken under closed-book conditions and without a calculator. All problems on the exam can be solved with concepts taught before calculus in the standard American mathematics curriculum. The top test-takers on AMC 10 or 12 will qualify to take the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME).

The AMC 12 is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple-choice exam to be taken under closed-book conditions and without a calculator. All problems on the exam can be solved with concepts taught before calculus in the standard American mathematics curriculum. The top test-takers on the AMC 12 will qualify to take the AIME.

The AMC 12 A and AMC 10 A tests are given on the same day, and due to the overlap in problems (approximately 12 each year), students may only officially take one of these tests per year. Students may, however, take one each of the A and B exams (see below).

Students who cannot take the AMC 10 A or AMC 12 A, or students who simply wish to expand their problem-solving experience should take the AMC 10/12 B exam, which is very similar to the AMC 10/12 A but held on a later Wednesday date.
Registration: Teachers or school coordinators can register online here or by filling and mailing the Registration Form.
